Aramark going private?

In another sign of private equity influence, food services and uniform management provider Aramark may be going private through a management buyout coupled with private equity investment.

" (AP) A group of investors led by Aramark's chairman and chief executive on Monday offered to buy out the company, the world's third-largest food service provider, for nearly $5.8 billion.

The offer of $32 per share, a 14 percent premium over the Friday closing price, sent Aramark Corp. shares soaring Monday. The company's shares rose $5.34, or 19 percent, to $33.45 in late morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange."
